Make a shop Wi-Fi sign, free

A Wi-Fi sign with a QR · scan it and you are online, no typing the password

A Wi-Fi sign with a QR that customers scan to connect themselves takes almost all of the repeated questions off the counter. The customer opens the camera, scans, and is online — nobody has to read a long password out loud one customer at a time.

This tool uses the “Wi-Fi sign” template from the poster tool. Fill in the Wi-Fi name and the password, and you get both the QR and a sign you can print out to put on the wall or stand on a table. Everything is made in your browser; your shop's Wi-Fi password is not sent to us.

The password is printed on the sign as well, so that customers who cannot scan can still type it in themselves. If you do not want the password on the sign, leave the password box empty.

Frequently asked questions

Can an iPhone connect to the Wi-Fi straight after scanning?

Yes. Open the iPhone camera, point it at the QR, then tap the notification bar that comes up at the top; the system will ask you to confirm joining the network. On newer Android phones you can scan from the camera or from the Wi-Fi menu as well. Some very old phones may have to type the password in themselves, which is why the sign has the password printed on it too.

Does the shop's Wi-Fi password get sent anywhere?

No. The QR is made in your own browser. Neither the network name nor the password is sent out of your device. If you turn the internet off after this page has opened, the tool can still make the sign for you.

Can the Wi-Fi name or the password contain special characters?

Yes. The system automatically adds the marks needed for characters that have a special meaning in the Wi-Fi QR format, namely backslash, semicolon, comma, colon and quotation mark, so a name like Cafe;Free, or a password with a : in it, still scans correctly.
